Aledade is a startup that helps independent physicians participate in value-based care initiatives. “At a time when regulation and consolidation are making it harder for independent physicians to deliver quality, personalized care to the communities they serve, Aledade offers a new model of primary care that puts physicians back where they should be: quarterbacking their patients’ healthcare,” Farzad Mostashari, MD, CEO and co-founder of Aledade, said in a statement.
The Aledade Arkansas ACO is a first of its kind for the state. It was created in partnership with Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care and has already recruited 10 physician practices. Some practices also intend on applying for CMS’ Comprehensive Primary Care Plus program.
The Aledade Missouri ACO launched earlier this year and is also the first independent, primary care, physician-led ACO in its state. The Missouri group includes five independent physician practices and is supported by Primaris, a healthcare consulting firm based in Columbus, Mo.
