3 steps Catholic Health has taken to improve access

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health has been investing to improve care access in Western New York since COVID-19’s onset, The Buffalo News reported Sept. 22.

The health system has made the following advancements since 2020, according to the newspaper: 

  • Converted an abandoned nursing home into a COVID-19 hospital for elderly patients. 
  • Invested $139 million in the EMR system Epic. 
  • Planned and is building the 62,000-square-foot Lockport (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital, set to open in summer 2023.
