The wreck occurred Jan. 9. The male driver of the vehicle and a hospital employee, who was inside the facility when the crash happened, were injured, DeKalb County Fire Rescue Capt. Jaeson Daniels said, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. They were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, law enforcement said, according to the newspaper. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
“Emory Healthcare is working with local law enforcement and several other supporting agencies while they conduct their investigation,” the Atlanta-based health system said in a Jan. 9 statement. “Two people were injured during the incident. Our thoughts are with them.”
Emory Healthcare said those who need emergency care at Emory Hillandale Hospital should enter through the front doors of the facility.
“There are no further concerns for the safety of our patients, their families and staff. We are grateful to all of the first responders who assisted with this unfortunate event,” the health system said.
