Several southeastern states were listed to WalletHub’s 2016 Fattest States in America, with Mississippi housing the largest percentage of obese and overweight residents.

WalletHub analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia through three dimensions: obesity and overweight prevalence; unhealthy habits and consequences; and food and fitness. Overall scores for each state represent the weighted average across 17 different metrics used to evaluate the three main dimensions.
