Mission Hospital’s Owen Heart Center, named in honor of community leaders Catherine and Charles D. Owen, provides comprehensive cardiac care. Cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons from Asheville (N.C.) Cardiology Associates and Asheville (N.C.) Heart provide care at the hospital’s heart center. Mission Hospital was ranked as one of Truven Health Analytics’ 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in 2013, and the hospital was also named one of America’s top performing hospitals for cardiac care by CareChex in 2014. In June, Mission Hospital’s coronary bypass graft program became the first in North Carolina to receive Joint Commission certification.
