Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital, part of Sommerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham, has received a $100 million gift from the New Balance Foundation to support construction of a new care tower.
The new tower will house heart and vascular care for the health system, including five inpatient floors with 32 cardiac ICU beds, according to an Oct. 1 news release from Mass General Brigham.
Massachusetts General Hospital will name the facility the New Balance Foundation Tower in honor of the gift. Construction is expected to begin in 2027 for patient services to launch in 2030, the release said.
