Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center has wrapped the first phase of its $10 million expansion, The Weirton Daily Times reported Oct. 7.
The first phase included a new laboratory and an expanded pneumatic delivery system for transporting samples.
The next phase will include building a new gastroenterology center, slated to open in summer 2023.
Phase 3 will expand and redesign the hospital's emergency department. The expansion overall will improve patient flow and upgrade emergency room technology.
