Washington hospital makes major upgrades

Elma, Wash.-based Summit Pacific Medical Center has made several upgrades to its facility to enhance patient access, KXRO reported Oct. 4.

Its upgrades include an expanded laboratory, a new CT scanner and molecular-based microbiology testing.

The new lab also has a second hood to speed up specimen processing as well as new refrigerators and freezers for molecular testing materials.

The expansion and upgrades were made possible through a grant from the Vancouver, Wash.-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust and funds from the Summit Pacific Medical Foundation.
