Virginia hospital undergoing $15M renovation and expansion project

Rocky Mount, Va.-based Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital is upgrading and expanding its facility, NBC affiliate WSLS reported Oct. 20.

The project will add 5,000 square feet and include preoperative and postoperative bays and will double the size of its operating rooms. The operating rooms will also be modernized. 

The expansion will allow the hospital to double its surgical staff and offer new services such as obstetrics, hand surgery, plastic surgery and podiatry. 

Construction is slated to wrap in 2023.
