The expansion will create inpatient and outpatient procedural rooms, diagnostic spaces, conference areas and waiting rooms. The new three-story expansion will sit atop an existing parking structure and connect to the rest of the hospital through a bridge.

The new building is expected to open in December 2025. UPMC officials did not disclose the cost of the project.
