University of Maryland Shore Regional files certificate of need for 142-bed hospital

Easton, Md.-based University of Maryland Shore Regional Health has filed for a certificate of need to build a new 142-bed hospital in Easton, The Daily Record reported Jan. 9.

The project will replace the current Shore Regional hospital in Easton. Construction on the Easton hospital is expected to be completed in time for the facility to open in 2028.

The hospital will have 122 inpatient beds and 25 observation beds and include emergency services, surgery, labor and delivery care.
