Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth plans to add four floors to the eight-story John and Jane Justin Tower, two of which will house a women’s and infants center expected to be completed in 2029.
The new Jane and John Justin Center for Women & Infants will occupy floors 11 and 12 of the expansion, and include labor and delivery rooms, a nursery, dedicated operating rooms, and antepartum, postpartum and gynecology rooms, according to a July 14 health system news release. Floors nine and 10 will serve as shell space for future expansions.
Campus improvements will also relocate the obstetric emergency department into Justin Tower with a dedicated entrance and expansion of the hospital’s neonatal ICU, which will add 32 private NICU beds, bringing the total to 86. The expanded NICU is slated to open in 2030.
Two existing unfinished tower floors will also be built out, adding 71 patient rooms and a surgical trauma progressive care unit, expected to open later this year.
“This is more than a hospital expansion; it’s an investment in the health and future of our community,” Josh Floren, COO of Texas Health’s Hospital Channel, said in the release. “Expanding Women’s Services helps support the journey of expectant mothers, gives newborns the safest possible start, and strengthens the health of families for generations to come.”
