Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke’s University Health Network will open its new St. Luke’s Heart Hospital at Anderson Campus in Easton, Pa., in October — the largest construction project in the health system’s more than 150-year history by both cost and square footage.
The $252 million, five-story facility spans nearly 355,000 square feet, according to an Aug. 6 St. Luke’s news release. It includes four dedicated heart operating rooms, one hybrid operating room and 10 advanced interventional suites for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and interventional radiology, along with a dedicated cardiac ICU for high-acuity patients.
The heart hospital adds 140 beds to the Anderson Campus, nearly doubling its size, according to the release. The project also brings campuswide upgrades, including a rooftop helipad and a larger cafeteria.
Construction on the hospital began in 2024.
