St. Louis Children’s at CoxHealth is opening an independently licensed pediatric hospital in Springfield, Mo., expanding access to higher-acuity pediatric services in southwest Missouri, according to a Feb. 27 news release shared with Becker’s.

The hospital, opening March 1 on the campus of CoxHealth Medical Center South, marks the latest milestone in the joint venture finalized in June 2025 between Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The facility includes a neonatal ICU, pediatric ICU and inpatient pediatric services. Physicians from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis will provide specialty care. Sarah Becker serves as vice president and administrator of the joint venture.
