The partnership focused on reducing denial write-offs, increasing charge capture, addressing payment variance, reducing cost collections and identifying automation opportunities. St. Charles looked to improve its RCM process after the COVID-19 pandemic put financial strain on the health system, according to an Oct. 19 Guidehouse news release.

The collaboration led to a $680,000 daily increase in gross revenue.

“In less than six months of working with Guidehouse, the St. Charles revenue cycle team delivered substantial and enduring improvement to revenue capture,” St. Charles CFO Matt Swafford said in the news release.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
