South Carolina hospital launches $67M expansion project

Summerville (S.C.) Medical Center is launching a $66.8 million expansion project to add 56 inpatient beds to the hospital, local news outlet ABC4 reported April 20.

The project will increase inpatient capacity by 40 percent and is designed to meet the demand brought about by the growing Summerville community. 

According to hospital officials, the hospital has invested $200 million in expansion projects over the last decade.
