Prisma Health hospital to receive funding to reopen emergency room

The Greenville (S.C.) County Council approved Travelers Rest, S.C.-based Prisma Health North Greenville Hospital’s requests for COVID-19 relief funding for its emergency department, the Greenville Journal reported Sept. 8.

The county council unanimously approved allocating $13.5 million in American Rescue Plan funding, most of which will go toward reopening the hospital’s emergency room. 

Guidelines for economic incentives for creating affordable housing projects were also approved by the council, but will be revisited by the Committee of the Whole within 30 days.
