The unit will also serve patients from other Los Angeles-area hospitals operated by Pipeline Health, which emerged from bankruptcy earlier this year.
The new unit at the Norwalk 117-bed acute care hospital will have an additional 37 inpatient beds, according to an Aug. 4 news release from Pipeline. The health system also wants to build a linked outpatient facility to also help serve underserved patients in the community.
CEO Robert Allen talked with Becker’s in February to discuss how Pipeline has been able to emerge from bankruptcy.
