Healthcare moving out of hospitals has been forecasted for the past decade with the certainty of death and taxes. But it's brick-and-mortar infrastructure that continues to raise big questions and pivots for health system strategy, at least for now. 

Between late September and early October, three health systems shared plans to construct new or replacement children's hospitals.

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic has had a permit approved for a $130.7 million patient tower at its Jacksonville, Fla., campus, according to an Oct. 10 Jacksonville Daily Record report.

Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center Health Network is to build a $186 million patient tower on its flagship campus, according to an Oct. 9 release.
