Ohio State University Medical Center will spend $102 million on an electronic medical record system over the next five years, according to a Columbus Dispatch report.
OSU hospital will use Epic, which it has first initiated at its outpatient facilities and pharmacy. The system allows patients to communicate directly with physicians.
Through its physicians and hospitals, OSU has the potential to receive an additional $25 million in federal payments due to the EMR’s installation before 2014.
