Orlando (Fla.) Health has shared plans to break ground in June on a 240-bed regional hospital and medical office building in Viera, Fla.
The seven-story facility and 60,000-square-foot medical office building will sit on a planned 40-acre health and wellness campus, according to a June 2 news release shared with Becker’s.
Orlando Health Viera Hospital will be built in phases, with its emergency department opening in fall 2026, and the 240 beds available at “ultimate build.”
The hospital will also comprise emergency services, imaging, laboratory services, pharmacy, surgical suites, catheterization labs and needed support areas for comprehensive acute care services. It is expected to add more than 1,000 jobs to the region.
The medical office building will feature specialty practices that focus on areas like cardiovascular health and neurosciences.
“This is an exciting day for this region and for Orlando Health as we move forward with plans for this state-of-the-art facility,” Ohme Entin, president of Orlando Health East Region and senior vice president of Orlando Health, said in the release. “With the addition of this new facility, we will continue to build on the level of healthcare services that the community deserves and has come to expect from Orlando Health.”
A spokesperson for Orlando Health declined to provide the project cost with Becker’s.
