1 of South Carolina’s 1st dual emergency-urgent care centers in the works

Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital has begun work on a new hybrid emergency and urgent care facility on Hilton Head Island.

The $16.6 million project is a joint venture led by Beaufort Memorial, in partnership with Dallas-based Intuitive Health and Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health, and is among the first combined emergency and urgent care sites in South Carolina, according to the hospital.

It will include:

• One triage room
• Five emergency exam rooms
• Five urgent care exam rooms
• One trauma room
• On-site lab equipment
• A radiology suite with X-ray and CT scanners

The 24/7 facility is expected to open in fall 2026.
