The hospital in the Queens borough was one of the first and hardest hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the report. The funding includes $4.5 million for the relocation of the neonatal intensive care unit and a $4.5 million MRI suite expansion.
It will also get $3 million for a mother-baby lab, $2 million in cardiac catheterization lab upgrades and a $2 million surgical subspecialty suite for the hospital’s hand surgeon.
Elmhurst serves primarily low-income and minority communities, according to the report.
