The funds were allocated from the city council and the Queens Borough President’s Office.
Elmhurst will put $6 million of the funds toward a new infectious disease clinic, and $5 million will be used to update the hospital’s main entrance and for a new cooling tower.
Construction of the project is slated to begin in 2023.
