Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health plans to build a 20-bed outpatient-focused hospital in Greenville, S.C.
The nonprofit health system confirmed it intends to apply for a certificate of need from the state of South Carolina to move forward with the project.
Novant said the hospital will provide greater access to personalized care, while offering Greenville residents more healthcare choices closer to home. The outpatient model will focus on improving care quality, affordability and convenience while addressing the unique needs of a growing population.
“We are invested in Greenville and continue to look for ways to increase access to expert, personalized care,” according to the health system. “Our proposed hospital will offer better access to care, higher-quality health services and more choices to the Greenville area.”
The project also includes partnerships with local physicians, an approach Novant says is essential to ensuring the hospital meets the community’s evolving healthcare needs.
