NewYork-Presbyterian and Spear will open nine outpatient physical therapy locations across New York City and Westchester County this year.

Four of the new sites will be in Queens, three in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn and one in Rye Brook, N.Y., according to a Sept. 16 joint news release. They will pair the outpatient operations of Spear, a physical and occupational therapy provider with more than 90 clinics across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Long Island, with clinical guidance from NewYork-Presbyterian physicians. The two organizations will also develop clinical education and professional development programs.

“By expanding access to physical and occupational therapy across New York City and Westchester, we can help more patients receive coordinated rehabilitation services closer to home and support them throughout their recovery,” Deepa Kumaraiah, MD, executive vice president and COO of NewYork-Presbyterian, said in the release.

NewYork-Presbyterian operates 10 hospitals and nearly 350 locations, and is affiliated with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medicine.
