Camden, N.J.-based Cooper University Health Care, an academic health system in southern New Jersey, plans to build a $300 million multispecialty outpatient campus in Gloucester Township.
Five things to know, per the system’s June 3 news release:
1. The nearly 184,000-square-foot, five-story building will be Cooper’s largest ambulatory campus, surpassing its Moorestown Township, N.J., facility. It will sit on 39 acres adjacent to Route 42, a major thoroughfare.
2. The health system expects the project to bring more than 400 additional healthcare jobs to the region.
3. The campus will feature advanced specialty exam suites for cardiology, neurology, oncology, OB-GYN, orthopedics, urology, pulmonary, pain management and additional specialties, according to Cooper. Other features include an MD Anderson Cancer Center with radiation oncology and infusion services, a next-generation radiology suite, a dedicated procedural suite for digestive health and an ambulatory surgery center.
4. Construction is projected to begin in mid-2027, pending state and local approvals, and conclude by the end of 2028. Cooper expects to welcome its first patients in spring 2029.
5. The project is part of Cooper’s broader growth plans. The health system also broke ground Jan. 28 on the first phase of a $3 billion “Project Imagine” health sciences campus expansion in Camden.
