Nationwide Children’s Hospital-Toledo (Ohio) plans to invest $100 million to $150 million to expand pediatric care across northwest Ohio over the next five years.
Four things to know:
1. The investment will fund construction of two outpatient pediatric facilities aimed at increasing access, capacity and care coordination, according to a March 26 health system news release.
2. The sites will offer services including diagnostic testing, therapy, behavioral health and primary and specialty care. The expansion is intended to support recruitment of additional providers and reduce the need for families to travel outside the region for care.
3. Specific locations and services will be announced later in 2026, and the facilities are expected to open between 2028 and 2030. The system said the investment could create several hundred jobs as it builds out clinical and support staff.
4. Since entering the region in 2022, the Nationwide Children’s-Toledo has recruited more than 50 pediatric providers and operates nine primary care locations across northwest Ohio, the release said.
