Months after layoffs, Massachusetts hospital stabilized with grant

After laying off 35 workers in September 2022, Worcester, Mass.-based Family Health Center received a $2.9 million state grant that will help stabilize the hospital’s financial situation, the Telegram & Gazette reported July 10.

In November 2022, hospital CEO Lou Brady announced a turnaround plan designed to improve the hospital’s financial situation.

The grant will build off that plan by improving infrastructure, streamlining operations and advancing healthcare initiatives.

The health center serves 30,000 patients per year, many of which are low-income.
