Minnesota hospital set to use federal funds for upgrades

Wabasha, Minn.-based Gundersen St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is set to use $250,000 in earmarked federal funding to upgrade its 100-bed long-term care unit, the Post Bulletin reported Jan. 2.

The hospital will create a modernization and upgrade plan throughout 2023. While hospital officials have not made a specific layout for upgrades, Gundersen Administrator Jim Root said he expects to emphasize memory care. 

Once the renovations are fully planned, the hospital will apply for more funding to complete them.
