McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, Mich., has completed a nearly $900,000 renovation and expansion of its emergency department waiting area, according to a hospital news release.
The multi-phase project lasted about one year and included refreshed furniture and flooring, additional artwork, increased security and other amenities.
The redesign aims to create a peaceful environment for patients and visitors, McLaren Bay Region Chief Nursing Officer Stacey Klump said in the release.
The project was funded through donations from community members, hospital employees and local businesses. The emergency department features 34 treatment spaces and provides care for tens of thousands of patients annually.
