Mercy Health announced in March that Enterprise Park was one of the sites in the running for its new 350,000-square-foot St. Joseph Warren Hospital. In November, GM said it would likely shut down its Ohio plant, which employs 1,600 workers.
Health system officials confirmed to Becker’s Dec. 20 that they will pause any plans to build the hospital or expand services in the area until further notice because of the potential GM closure.
“The recent news of GM Lordstown has shaken our community,” Mercy Health officials told Becker’s.
Officials said that the company remains “focused on caring for our patients and extending our healing to those who need us most.”
