Affected positions include jobs from the Patient Access Center as well as back-office positions. The jobs will move from Youngtown to Mason, Ohio, the report states.
Mercy Health spokesperson Carrie Kandes told WFMJ affected employees have the option to move to Mason and were offered a relocation benefit. She also told the TV station the health system will help affected employees find other available Mercy Health positions, or other positions in the community.
“As we navigate the dynamics of the transformative healthcare environment, Mercy Health continues to evaluate how we can best improve the health of our communities while serving as good stewards of our heritage and our ministry resources,” Ms. Kandes added. “We’re doing this in a variety of ways, including through financial diligence, a focus on innovation and the alignment of our talent to support this work.”
