The Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel is four times the size of the old hospital and includes 165 beds — 10 more than the old hospital. In addition, the new pediatric emergency room has 22 exam rooms compared with eight in the previous facility.
The new hospital was designed to provide a healing environment for patients and has carpeted hallways and sliding doors to reduce noise, private rooms and a terrace garden.
Patients will move to the new building Feb. 26.
