In addition to the construction of University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ new $150 million medical school, the district plans to spend $130 million on infrastructure repairs including road reconstruction, widening sidewalks, new traffic signals, new lighting and improving bus pullouts.
There are also plans to construct a new complex to attract healthcare workers to the area that will feature 500 housing units, office and retail spaces. The district also seeks to build a 440-room hotel.
A $7.4 million shuttle system will be installed as well to transport people throughout the district.
Las Vegas-based University Medical Center, part of the district, will also be replacing the exterior on all of its buildings for $50 million.
