La Porte Hospital has yet to determine site for $125M project

The building site for La Porte (Ind.) Hospital’s replacement facility has not been determined, but the hospital’s top executive said Wednesday that details on the $125 million project are anticipated to come in the next few weeks, according to the News-Dispatch.

Hospital officials have narrowed down the replacement facility’s location to two sites, both on properties the hospital owns near the existing facility, said Ashley Dickinson, CEO of La Porte Hospital.

The replacement hospital will focus on accommodating a growing number of outpatient visits and fewer admissions, Ms. Dickinson said. It will also be designed for future expansion projects and will have a medical office building.

The existing hospital will be demolished if no other organization can find a use for it, Ms. Dickinson said.
