Kentucky hospital breaks ground on medical plaza

Georgetown (Ky.) Community Hospital will build a new medical plaza featuring restaurants, banks and a grocery store adjacent to a new medical office building, News-Graphic reported Sept. 23.

The new campus will be about 20 acres and will lease 30,000 square feet for physician and hospital service space.

"Georgetown Community Hospital is a critical community institution for us," Tom Prather, Georgetown Community Hospital board member and city mayor, told the publication. "Their line is 'Making Communities Healthier.' That's what today is about too — making Georgetown and Scott County healthier. As we add services, as we add better facilities for physicians to practice and better places for patients to be seen. … This is so needed."
