Intermountain Healthcare opens 23rd hospital

Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare opened its 23rd hospital Oct. 15 — a full-service, 43-bed facility.

The 300,000-square-foot hospital, named Intermountain Layton (Utah) Hospital, will offer emergency services, surgeries, women and newborn care, outpatient services and infusion therapy.

This is the first Intermountain hospital to open in nearly a decade.

A 24th hospital, the $150 million Intermountain Spanish Fork (Utah) Hospital, is under construction and slated to open in 2020.
