Houston Methodist plans $240M expansion

Houston Methodist the Woodlands (Texas) Hospital, just 2 years old, will embark on a $240 million expansion project, according to the Community Impact.

The expansion includes a new patient tower that will have 100 beds, 10 operating rooms and expanded space for the heart center and diagnostic imaging center.

The groundbreaking for the patient tower is expected to take place Sept. 27. Construction is expected to wrap up in 2022.

The hospital plans to hire about 350 employees to staff the new addition.
