Nashville, Tenn.-based TriStar Centennial Medical Center plans a $90 million renovation and expansion of TriStar Centennial Women’s Hospital and TriStar Centennial Children’s Hospital, according to an Oct. 19 news release shared with Becker’s.
A spokesperson told Becker’s the project is the largest investment in the two hospitals in about 40 years.
The work, which began this month and is expected to run through 2028, will expand the pediatric emergency department from seven to 12 treatment rooms, add larger pediatric operating rooms and a dedicated pediatric CT suite, and modernize the 60-bed NICU and pediatric patient rooms.
The investment builds on recent growth at the children’s hospital, which added pediatric specialists in cardiology, emergency medicine, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, oncology, endocrinology, plastic surgery, rehabilitation and general surgery over the past year.
“As Middle Tennessee continues to grow, we are making a significant investment in the future of healthcare for women and children,” TriStar Centennial CEO Tom Ozburn said in the release.
TriStar Centennial, a 741-bed facility, is part of Nashville-based HCA Healthcare.
