HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital in Lehigh Acres, Fla., opened its HCA Florida ER-Alico, a freestanding emergency department, on Oct. 20, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
The hospital is part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare.
The project cost for the freestanding ED was $22 million, including land and construction, a spokesperson for the system confirmed to Becker’s.
HCA Florida ER-Alico comprises 11 exam rooms and advanced diagnostic capabilities, including X-rays, CT scans, ultrasound and on-site laboratory services.
The freestanding ED offers hospital-level emergency services, providing patients access to timely care, the release said.
“The new emergency department represents another significant investment in meeting the healthcare needs of Southwest Florida’s growing population,” the release said. “As part of HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital, HCA Florida ER-Alico builds on the hospital’s continued commitment to expanding access to care, including facility and service enhancements, recognition as a Primary Stroke Center and the addition of HCA Florida West Fort Myers ER.”
