HCA Florida buys 30 acres for $11.1M to expand hospital

 HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is to build a freestanding emergency center to add to the nearby 100-bed acute care facility.

The hospital completed a 30-acre land purchase in the Wellen Park development area at a cost of $11.1 million, according to a May 31 report in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has more than 650 sites of care in Florida. The Englewood hospital is in Southwest Florida.
