Jackson Health Foundation has raised $100 million to support a new emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

The new emergency room will open April 23, according to an April 17 news release from Miami-based Jackson Health System shared with Becker’s. The 178,000-square-foot facility is three times the size of the current emergency room. It includes 57 observation rooms and four advanced resuscitation rooms.

The fundraising milestone comes as demand for emergency services across Miami-Dade County continues to rise, the release said.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
