Marianna, Fla.-based Jackson Hospital is hoping to get a grant to change its third floor into a pandemic wing, a project that is expected to cost $2 million, WJHG reported Oct. 19.

When the pandemic first hit, the hospital had to create temporary negative pressure rooms, which include plywood in the windows with high-efficiency particulate absorbing exhaust fans. With the grant, the hospital would renovate rooms for a more permanent solution.

The deadline for the grant is Nov. 1, and if the hospital receives the grant, the project should take about two years.
