Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-City Centre is slated to close August 13 as part of the system’s planned $135 million plan to transform that facility into a new children’s hospital. Work on the children’s hospital is expected to begin in the fall and could take up to 18 months to complete.
Christus said some City Centre employees will have a chance to transfer their jobs to other Christus hospitals, but in a Worker Adjustment and Retirement Notification Act letter, the system said closing the hospital will result in the “permanent employment loss for the majority of associates,” according to the report.
