Encompass Health to build rehabilitation hospital in Florida

Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health plans to build a freestanding 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in The Villages, Fla., according to a Sept. 26 news release.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wildwood will complement local acute services to serve recovering patients. The hospital will feature all private patient rooms and advanced rehabilitation technologies. 

Lori Bedard, president of Encompass Health’s Southeast region, said they are excited to expand and grow a presence in central Florida.

“We hope to bring significant value to this community by developing a new hospital focused on high-quality clinical outcomes and cost-effective, individualized care, which allows patients to receive rehabilitation closer to home,” Ms. Bedard said. 

Encompass Health currently has 19 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Florida.
