The healthcare system plans to apply for permits in October and to begin construction in 2023.
The center will add 6,500 square feet to the Portola campus and will include a therapy pool equipped with a treadmill. A meditation room overlooking a nearby forest will also be constructed.
The system plans to enlist yoga and tai chi instructors as well as massage therapists. It will also build a 64-seat classroom for classes on nutrition, diabetic education and other wellness topics.
