The grants are intended to help maintain access to critical healthcare services in each hospital’s community. Hospitals in the state facing financial difficulties that threatened their ability to maintain services were eligible for the grants, according to the report.
The nine hospitals to receive the grants were St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, Jersey City Medical Center, Christ Hospital in Jersey City, Hoboken University Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, East Orange General Hospital, Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, Saint Clare’s Health System in Boonton and Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth.
