Danbury Hospital Receives $10M Gift With Possible $20M Match for New Addition, Operations

Danbury (Conn.) Hospital has received a $10 million gift from an anonymous donor for its $150 million expansion, which is currently under construction, according to a report from the News Times.

The donor may contribute another $20 million next spring if Danbury Hospital has met its $50 million fundraising goal by the time of the addition’s ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Western Connecticut Health Network, Danbury Hospital’s care network, is facing more than $30 million in state budget cuts over the next two years and has laid off 65 people and eliminated 51 unfilled positions as a result.
