Cleveland Clinic has received a $25 million investment from longtime supporters Dee and Jimmy Haslam.

Three notes:

1. The investment will support strategic initiatives aimed at expanding access to care in communities across the U.S., according to a July 21 health system news release.

2. Dee and Jimmy Haslam are CEO and chairman, respectively, of Haslam Sports Group, the release said. Haslam Sports Group owns the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, according to its website.

3. The investment builds on the Haslam family’s previous support of Cleveland Clinic, including funding that established the Haslam Family Section for Cardiovascular Genetics and the Haslam Family Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine. That support has expanded access to genetic testing and advanced cardiovascular research, according to the release.

Cleveland Clinic is a 6,725-bed health system that employs 83,000 people worldwide.
